What kind of smell is coming from the product?
Glue or chemical smell
A smell is normal with new systems and will lessen over time.
On new systems—or systems being used for the first several times—it is normal for an odor to be released from the system. The smell is known as off-gassing, which is a normal release of chemicals due to temperature or pressure. This is common with speakers in new electronics.
Smoke or burning smell from system during normal use
It is normal for a bass module to give off a bit of a smell when first used.
This is the glue in the bass module heating up and dissipating. This is not indicative of any defect and does not qualify as a FINS/Safety issue.
Smoke or Burnt Smell Detected
If smoke was seen coming from the product, or if it smells like a component has burned, unplug the device as a precaution. Please contact us so we can carry out further investigation and advise on the next steps.
