Short battery life | Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen)

Determine if Immersive Audio is enabled.

Due to the additional processing power needed to support the feature, battery run time will be reduced when Immersive Audio is enabled. Turn off Immersive audio, to enable longer battery run times.

Check for and install any available product updates.

On a computer, visit btu.bose.com and follow the instructions to ensure your product has the latest features and enhancements. See Checking the software or firmware version and Updating the software or firmware of your product.

Check if the battery is charged.

Be sure the battery is not depleted. For more info see, Checking the remaining battery charge and Charging your headphones.

Device tones and notification sounds can noticeably affect battery performance.

Common notifications and phone sounds include:

Game and application sound effects
Text and email notification tones
Lock/unlock sounds and keyboard clicks

These sounds and tones should be included in the overall calculation of usage time (standby time, talk time, and streaming audio time). The user may be able to turn off certain notifications via the device's Sound or Audio menu in order to reduce unnecessary battery consumption. If there are certain application sounds occurring that user does not need hear, refer to the settings menu of the application to disable such sounds

Notification tones are commonly sent from the device using the A2DP profile. On Android based devices, A2DP streaming audio can be completely disabled via the Media audio setting. To locate this setting, press-and-hold on the headset's listing in the phone's Bluetooth® menu and selection Options. On iOS devices, the use of this profile cannot be controlled

Reboot your headphones.

This reset will not erase your product settings.

If the USB charging cable or audio cable is connected to your headphones, disconnect it.
Connect a USB charging cable and charger to a power outlet. You can also connect the USB cable to a USB port on a computer that is powered on.
Note: Do not connect your headphones to the USB cable yet.
On your headphones, press and hold the Power/Bluetooth® button.
While continuing to hold the button, connect the USB cable to the left earcup. The Power light on your headphones will quickly blink twice.
Once connected, wait two seconds and then release the Power/Bluetooth button.
Tip: If your headphones don't respond after this, reset them a second time.
