Incorrect Voice Prompts | Bose SoundLink Micro Portable Speaker (2nd Gen)
If your voice prompts sound different
Between February and March 2026, Bose released an update that introduced a refreshed experience to make your products easier and faster to use. This includes changes to the voice prompts, designed to make things clearer and more helpful while you use your product.
The update installs automatically when your product connects to the Bose app, and there’s no way to undo it once it’s installed. If you want to avoid the update, you can delete the Bose app—but as soon as you reinstall it and reconnect your product, the update starts again automatically. Just keep in mind that deleting the app also means losing your custom settings, future updates, and other helpful app features.

A repair or replacement won’t resolve this, as all products automatically update to the latest version once they connect to the app.
