Bose app does not detect product | Bose SoundLink Plus Portable Speaker
Be sure you are using the Bose app.
Ensure the Bose app has Bluetooth permissions
The Bose app asks for Bluetooth access when you first install it. To check if you have the correct permissions:
- iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth and enable Bluetooth permissions.
- Android: Go to Device Settings > Apps > Bose App > App Permissions > Nearby Devices and enable Bluetooth permission.
If you cannot locate these permissions, simply uninstall and reinstall the app, then allow Bluetooth access when prompted during setup.
Close and reopen the Bose app.
On an iOS device:
- Double-tap the home button to view running apps
- Swipe left or right to find the app
- Swipe up on the app to close it
- Press and hold the app icon
- Select the app info (or the info icon)
- Select Force Stop
Reset your product.
A reset refreshes your speaker's internal settings and can help fix minor issues.
- Press and hold the Power
button for 15 seconds.
- The speaker will power off and automatically turn back on.
Your previously connected devices will not be removed.
Reboot your personal device.
Restart your device (smartphone, tablet, or computer) by turning it off for 30 seconds and then turning it back on to fix any temporary Bluetooth or audio issues.
Check for and install any available product updates
Regardless of the issue you are experiencing with your product, try updating it. Visit btu.Bose.com and follow the instructions to ensure your product has the latest features and enhancements.
Factory restore your speaker.
Restoring to factory settings can resolve persistent issues. To restore your speaker to its original settings:
- Press and hold both the – and + buttons at the same time for 15 seconds.
- Wait until the power light blinks white for 3 seconds.
Important: This will erase all settings and return your speaker to its factory state. You will need to remove the speaker from your personal device's (phone, tablet, or computer) Bluetooth list and reconnect it.
